Due to fierce Internet competition (including from their own sales partners and retailers) combined with little to no online strategy, Xerox’s brand although strong offline was very weak on the Search Engines. I managed a multi-million dollar project working with both the Marketing, Xerox.com technical staff, Advertising, Design Agencies, dozens of internal departments, as well as their Legal department, to enhance their online brand, domain name registration and trademarks protection, online advertising, web design, and search engine marketing and optimization.
Some of the keywords that I ranked #1 included:
Xerox corporation
Xerox copiers
Xerox printers
Color printers
And over a thousand other keywords rank number #1 on all the major search engines in 1999.
I can directly attribute 100% of my contribution to this effort and was the lead manager to spearhead this project for Xerox.
However, many keywords such as copiers, color copiers, scanners, fax machines, printers, laser printers, inkjet printers, and many others have fallen after I left Xerox to work for Oracle.
